Arrested Member of the Academy of Cinema for Hacking

Sirgo Manuel, a member of the Film Academy and founder of the 12 penguins producer, was arrested by police last Wednesday, accused of spreading without permission movies before they reach commercial cinemas.

Sirgo won a Goya in 2002 for the animated short Chicken . Beside He had been arrested two employees of his production. Sirgo Apparently Manuel would have taken advantage of its membership of the Academy for access the movie and then hang them on the network, in a clear act of piracy. "I do not know if [Sirgo] is guilty or not, obviously. I imagine that will be decided by the judge. Lamentable is the act itself," said the president of the Academy of Cinema, Alex de la Iglesia.
